Outdoors gear keeps getting lighter and lighter. That’s both good (it’s lighter!) and bad (it’s less durable!). Find me someone who ACTUALLY sits around a campfire with a down puffy that doesn’t have burn holes in it. Or a 4 year old ultra light tent with no scuff slits or wear punctures. Sorry, I didn’t want to write hole 3 times, but those are bad synonyms.
If you need a quick fix to any of the above Holistic issues, you want a Tentacious tape patch. This little kit comes with a few round patches, that, without measuring, I’d say are 2.5” inches or so across. You can cut them in half, or quarters, but bigger patches are a good idea. Just clean the area with a bit of water, dry it by blowing on it agressively while looking askance at your camping partner, then when the fabric with hole is dry, stick the patch on and rub it like you are James rubbing his fingers together when someone is talking about who good carbon is. Hard and fast.
Done. That’s it. Ultralight puffy saved.
Bigger repair jobs? Get the Tenatious Tape that comes in long strips. But this is the stuff I’d take on a 2-5 day trip, just in case. It weights nothing, and it works wonders.
Use on: Tents, sleeping bags, light dry sacks, jackets. Don’t use on: air mattress, thick dry sacks (vinyl), jeans.
