Fifth Season Lockdown Strap (Sage Green)

The Fifth Season Lockdown Strap was recently given a nice upgrade.  Now it's a lovely, thin but strong cotton webbing.  Cotton ages well. It won't get brittle like a nylon strap will.  The buckle is enameled steel, with teeth that bite into the webbing.  No slipping.  Very strong spring. 

If you care about things like longevity, where things are made, how they are made, end of lifecycle (ie does it break down in a compost pile or will it be there for 600 years?) then this is your strap.  There is more material cost in this than in six 15 inch voile straps.  No one is paid to make a voile strap, a machine molds them by the thousands.  The Lockdown strap is made in the US by one gal in Vermont who rides a Tanglefoot.

You can throw the strap in the compost pile in 40 years, but probably won't have to.  Typical lifespan of a Voile strap is sub 3 years before they rot out through UV exposure and or hydrolysis.  Cotton webbing does not dry out and crack like rubbery plastics do, and it will not be landfill fodder as a result. 21 inches, tip to tail. That's about one cubit, if you are not working with the inch system.   Perfect to mount a Fifth Season Cache Sack to a King Manything Cage.  Get two straps per bag.
