Pedals are underrated as contact points. Folks talk about pedal weight, efficiency, clipless or not, but they rarely bring up how they feel under foot. It's an anathema to bring up how comfortable the shoe is you're riding in when you are not riding. We reckon pedals are at least as import as handlebars, grips or bar tape and a saddle. New bikes usually come with corny plastic pedals. They’re disposable, small, offer no traction. They’re junk.
