Velocity Blunt 35 Rim

We have some Velocity rims in stock, but not all the varieties.  We usually order these once a week from Velocity.  It might take a few weeks for you to get your rims.  If you are in a rush, email us to ask about current stock.  If you are not, order away and we will get em going for you!

Wheels and rims are oversized and will have the shipping cost calculated after purchase.  We'll send you a seperate invoice for the shipping.  Whatever the system automatically applies when you purchase the rims as a shipping charge will be subtracted from that invoice.  

Velocity makes rim in the US. Besides some carbon manufacturers, they’re the only ones who bother to do that, yet their prices are similar to the rims made in China and Taiwan. Hmm. Wanna guess which one has a bigger mark up?

The Blunt 35 is perfect for bike packing, enduro riding, mountain biking, and loaded touring with big tires. It’s beefy, 35mm wide (external width), tall and strong. 500ish grams, so there’s enough aluminum there for plenty of strength. Good for loaded off road touring for riders up to 200lbs. We’d recommend a beefier rim for larger riders.

Here’s what makes the Blunt 35 better than the competition: you can use tubes or go tubeless. Wait, you say, that’s it? Well, besides the color options and the point of origin, and the stiffness, yeah, that’s it. But that’s huge. WTB rims are strong, stiff and all that, but they are impossible to run with tubes, which can leave you outta luck in the backcountry if you get a flat. The WTB rims (and many other tubeless rims) make it very very hard to install a tube due to the design of the rim bed. That is a bummer. We think the ability to throw a tube in is crucial for touring applications.
