These fender nuts let you run full fenders on bikes with recessed brake bolts, like road caliper rim brakes. You replace the recessed bolt with a Sheldon nut, then you can install the fender mounting bolt into the back of the Sheldon fender nut. If you didn't use a Sheldon Fender Nut, you'd have to sandwich the fender mounting tab between the frame and the front of the brake, which doesn't work very well. This is cleaner, and the brake bolt stays snug. Get the 32mm nut pair if you have a carbon fork, and the short one if you have a steel fork.
