Front derailleurs are going the way of the Bramble Cay Melomys. If you are still clinging to the past like you cling to your time warped memories of your first love, then you might need eventually need a Braze-on Front Derailleur Adapter Clamp. We used to just call these braze on adapters, but Google optimization and all.
There are a number of fine front derailleurs out there that are inexplicably designed for a fad that went away when the first Bush was president and people still liked Billy Corgan. Makes sense... Some high end frames had braze on plates added on the seat tube, so you could mount a svelte racing derailleur on the plate and forgo the clamp. Worked great when everyone and I mean everyone rode 52 tooth big rings, but as soon as Rivendell came along and cracked open the gearing nut with an old Sugino AT crank, suddenly having your derailleur at a fixed height seemed very silly.
For those of you who have a braze on front mech (heck we even sell one), you'll need a braze on adapter to mount it to your frame if it lacketh that steel plate. It probably does lacketh, which again, is a good thing. You install this unit after bolting the derailleur to it. Then just adjust it like a normal front derailleur.
We have these in silver. You don't get a choice in the brand, because we don't get a choice. It will work, but it might not look exactly like the one in the pic, depending on who makes it.
