Color:All Black
Wheel Size:27.5"
Freehub Body:Shimano Hyperglide (HG)

There are two types of wheels in this world: the kind that cost as much as a nice used Subaru and sound like an aggressive swarm of robot hornets, and the kind you actually want to take into the woods. These are the latter.

We hand build these wheels right here at Analog because we believe a wheelset shouldn’t be a disposable item. We skipped the carbon fiber, which makes a sad, expensive crunch noise when you inevitably smack a piece of hidden Vermont granite and opted for an alloy build that punches way above its weight class in both durability and dollars.

The Hubs: Bitex Boost BX 211 (6-Bolt)

Bitex Boost hubs are the unsung, blue collar heroes of the bike industry. They don't have a marketing budget or a flashy anodized pedigree, but they have fantastic engagement, incredibly durable bearings, and an anti-bite strip on the HG freehub body so your cassette doesn't chew it up. We went with 6-bolt because Centerlock is a solution desperately looking for a problem, and you can actually find a T25 Torx wrench at a rural hardware store.  110 x 15mm front hub, 148 x 12mm rear hub.  We run these on 80% of our Moonshiner builds.

The Rims: Rollcii MTA 30

Rollcii makes incredibly good, no-BS rims. The MTA 30 model features a nice, wide 30mm profile that beautifully plumps up your favorite chunky tires, letting you run lower pressures without the tire squirming around like an anxious dog in a bathtub. They’re tough, they set up tubeless beautifully, and they look classy doing it.  Ideal for tires between 2.1 and 3”. Think: Velocity Blunt 35 but with money left over to snag a nice saddle.

The Build

Laced up by Mark here in the shop basement. We tension them, stress-relieve them, and use brass nipples and Pillar’s perfect quad butted spokes for low weight and high durability

Buy these if you want to put wheels on your bike and then completely forget about them while you look at some cool moss and eat snacks in the woods.

The 20 grit:

  • Hubs: Bitex MTF (Front) / MTR (Rear) - 6-Bolt Disc (Freehub body options: Shimano 11 speed HG, Shimano Microspline, SRAM XD) 100mm x 12mm front hub and 142mm x 12mm rear hub.  Want them built as quick release hubs or with a 15mm front axle? Just say so in the order comments

  • Rims: Rollcii MTA 30 Alloy Rims (Silver or Black, 29" or 27.5")

  • Build: Handbuilt by Analog Cycles, laced with excellent Pillar Quad Butted spokes and brass nipples.

  • Vibe: Unpretentious, reliable, and ready to get very dirty.

Quick note on shipping.  We will ship your wheels using bikeflights with full insurance.  The shopify system will automatically bill you SOMETHING for the shipping.  We will bill you for the difference, or refund you, after we build, box, and weigh the wheels.  Wheels will be shipped in about 2 weeks, after they work through Mark's build queue.
