Wanna Tanglefoot Hardtack but don't need to pick out every last detail?  Dig the Core Crafted Hardtack Build.  We've put together a nice Core build that saves hundreds of dollars off a custom Hardtack.  You can customize it in all the right places: bars, stem, bar tape, pedals, and saddle.  Every last bit of this bike is stuff we ride and like.  No filler, no fluff.  A full SRAM GX Eagle means you have a go fast high gear and a stump pulling low gear for off road hauling.

The Hardtack comes in 4 different drop bar specs and 4 different flat bar specs.  You've landed on the 700c SRAM GX 12 speed Flat Bar build, which is ideal for gravel, dirt roads, touring, and even pavement. If you want something less road oriented, check out the 27.5 build here.

Spec highlights include Bitex hubs laced to Velocity Blunt 35 rims, Paul Klamper brakes, a Discord stem and the best in class Nitto S92 seatpost.  Plenty of other stuff to love on there too.  More specs when you scroll down.

Core Crafted bikes allow you to customize the fit and look of the bike, but they are not custom bikes.  If you want say, White Industries hubs, or a Dynamo set up, or an E13 cassette instead the stock unit, that's a full custom bike, which we're happy to build for you.  Core Crafted bikes let you customize bar width, bar tape, pedals, bottle cages and stem set up.

How it works:  Have a friend help measure your pubic bone height.  THIS IS CRUCIAL.  Do the measurement 3 times, and take the highest of the 3 numbers.  Please put your PBH in the order comments!  Also put your desired bar height in: top of bars level with saddle (very aggressive fit), 1" higher (standard fit) or 2" higher (touring, relaxed fit).

Do the same for your shoulder width, measured from Acromion Process to Acromion Process.  That's the bony spur at the top of your shoulder socket.  Measure with arms relaxed.  If you are either super jacked or heavier, go up 2cm to get your bar width.  If not, round up to the nearest centimeter.  IE 43cm shoulders get 44cm bars.  44cm shoulders get 44cm bars.

Your PBH plus your height determines your stem reach.  Put em both in your order comments and we'll get you the right stem for the bars you pick.

Extra Small Frameset:  76cm to 78cm PBH, rider height from 5' to 5'4".  We recommend Moloko bars for XS bikes if you want multiple hand positions, or Ritchey Kyote Bars if you are just gunna want the one hand position.  Let us know your shoulder width and we'll cut the bars to a reasonable width!

Small frameset:  77-80cm PBH, rider height 5'4" to 5'8".   We recommend Moloko bars for bikes if you want multiple hand positions, or Ritchey Kyote Bars if you are just gunna want the one hand position.  Let us know your shoulder width and we'll cut the bars to a reasonable width!

Medium Frameset:  80cm to 84cm PBH, rider height 5'8 to 5'11".  Broad shouldered folk should check the Kyote, Crazy or Seine bars.  Narrower shoulder folks consider the Moloko bars.

Large Frameset: 84cm to 87cm PBH, rider height between 5'11 and 6'1.  Broad shouldered folk should check the Kyote, Crazy or Seine bars.  Narrower shoulder folks consider the Moloko bars.

Extra Large:  88-98 PBH,  Riders between 6'2 and 6'8". Broad shouldered folk should check the Kyote, Crazy or Seine bars.  Narrower shoulder folks consider the Moloko bars.

Once you've added your selection to the cart, you'll wanna snag pedals, bottle cages, bar tape (gel is included in the price of the base build here) and a saddle.  If you want the tires set up tubeless, we're happy to do that as well.  You can add that to your cart here.  If you would like use to install a dropper that uses a dropper trigger mounted where the left shifter normally would be, you can add that here.  You don't have to get this stuff from us, we can ship the bike without any of it, but it would be cool if you did!

The Hardtack can take up to 5 bottle cages, so if you mix and match 2 King Manything cages, a Widefoot Liter Cage and two simworks John Cages, let us know in the comments where you want them installed, IE on the fork, downtube, under the downtube, or seat tube.

After you've added it all to the cart and submitted your order, we'll get cracking on building it up.  This usually takes 30 days or less.

Shipping is invoiced after we have boxed and weighed the bike.  We ship via bikeflights with full insurance.

The bike will arrive having been test ridden, with cables pre bedded in.  You will have to install the pedals, bars (which will be preset up and wrapped, optimal tilt noted so it will be a snap to install), put the front wheel on and bolt on the rotors.  Slow poke mechanics will be at it for 45 minutes, reasonably fast folks could have the bike ready in 15 minutes.  All assembly and packing is done at Analog by Kat or Mark.
