Velo Orange Happy Stem

Think of the Velo Orange Happy Stem as a great stem with a stupid name. Who names stuff at Velo Orange?

Almost everyone rides around with handlebars that are too low, pal. That’s bad, but this stem can help fix that problem.

It’s aluminum, so the Happy Stem decently light. Maybe too light. Velo Orange just orders it outta some big catalog from Taiwan, and they don’t know if the stem is necessarily off road rated or not.

My guess is, it’s not even rated. When items lacketh a specific strength rating, I assume the worst and figure they’re not made for actual off road riding. Our recommendation: install on bikes that are not rough-stuff touring bikes or bike packing bikes. Don’t take it off curbs. It’s strong enough for gravel, light touring, or commuting, that sort of thing. Not a 'Clydesdale' stem.

You need about 37mm of steerer tube to make this stem work. You can have more, and just put spacers under it. That’s fine. Probably ok for most steerer tubes. This is one the safer options out there for carbon steerer, 'cause it’s cast or forged, no sharp edges. Use a torque wrench if installing it on carbon, and keep that torque around 5.5 nm.

31.8 clamp. If you run 25.4 or 26mm bars, just get a shim from us too, we have 'em kicking around the shop.

1 ⅛ steerer. You can shim it down to a 1” steerer, with this.

Silver, or in Analog Ceramic Black. 40 bucks for silver, 55 for black. 90mm only.
