Tanglefoot Cycles Hardtack V2 Presale

Price
$500
Color:White with Black Drizzle and Magenta logos
Size:Extra Small

By late fall/early winter, we'll have Tanglefoot Hardtacks back in stock in extra small, small and medium.   There are very minor changes from V1 to V2.  The most obvious one is the colors:  The new frames will come in a dark navy / prussian blue with teal logos (same color logos as the Moonshiner has) or a white base drizzled with a thin black enamel, with magenta logos.  Very GT circa 1990.  We're stoked on both colors.  We reckon the white frame will look good with almost any wild ano colors, and the blue frame will look good with silver, black, bronze, gold, purple, pink.

Design changes:

  • Biggest one is the fork.  Nothing changes in the way the fork rides, tire clearances, offset, material.  The difference is in the drop out.  We hatched the idea for a modular drop out that lets you run 12mm or 15mm thru axle hubs via a changeable steel insert.  That means you can run whatever wheelset you already have, if you have one, or pick hubs based on availability, color, etc.  Some gravel wheels only come with 12mm axles, some mtn wheels only come with 15mm, so now you can swap wheels with ease.  1 bolt install.  The bike will come stock with the 15mm axle inserts, and the 12mm inserts will be available if ya need em.
  • More brake clearance for bulky rear brakes like Paul Klampers
  • Slightly revised cable routing
  • That's it.  Basically, everyone liked V1, so why mess too much with a good thing.

Pricing.  We don't know the exact landed price yet.  We do know this:  materials and labor costs, like everything, have gone up, and shipping has gone through the roof since our last order.  Our best GUESS is the frame and fork will be $1080.   Could be more, and we'll make it less if we can!

Here's how this works.  We're getting 25 of each size made, with 12 in one color and 13 in the other.  That's very few!  Your deposit guarantees you a frame and fork.  All Analog frame sales have a $500 minimum purchase of parts and accessories, or work with us to build you a custom Hardtack complete.  You place the frameset order now, and we can work on your build or accessories order over the next few months.  When the bike lands, if you are getting a complete, we'll assemble it and ship it out asap.  If you just ordered parts, we'll stick those in the frame box and ship that stuff out.  We'll invoice you for the parts / build and remaining balance on the frame when we know the final landed cost.

I'm sorry we don't have pictures of the new colors.  If we had waited for fully painted frame samples we wouldn't see the bikes until late spring!  It's a bit of a leap of faith, but, when have we steered you wrong?

Pics are for reference, and are of V1 Hardtacks.

Shipping will be calculated after we box and weigh the total package and invoiced at that time.
