Low top tube version Clem Smith Jr. Frameset

Rivendell’s Clem Smith L is a long wheel base, super comfortable, pretty fast do everything, almost, bike. Big tire clearance means you can ride it in the rough stuff, but no nasty mountain biking. Upright riding position means your hands and neck and shoulders feel good. Long wheelbase for stability in any conditions.

Here’s what makes the Clem Smith Jr. great:

  • You can sit upright, and see stuff, like cars, raccoons, turtles, nice old barns.
  • It can take lots of weight, and front and rear racks. Great for touring where it’s sorta flatish, or commuting, up to say, 20 miles.  Chill gravel roads, non-chunk fire roads, rail trails, all good for the Clem.
  • Big tire clearance. We say 2″ tires plus fenders.  Comes stock with 27.5 x 1.75 tires.
  • Steel frame, so it’s strong and repairable, and safe
  • long wheelbase, for stability at any speed.
  • great Rivendell paint job

Frame Size/Wheel Size

  • 52cm/27.5inch wheels
Typical rider height: 5-4 to 5-9

This bike is a Rivendell complete, with a few Analog Cycles flourishes.

We've added the lovely Blue Lug MKS XC Pro III pedals, made in Japan naturally.  The Brooks B-67 Saddle and the Oury V2 grips, plus we swapped the stock (heavy) Tosco bars for some light and beautiful Riv designed Billie Bars.  It also has a nice stainless US made King cage on it.  The bag in pics is not included, but can be, for 72 dollars.  It's a Fifth Season Solstice Sack, made in Middlebury Vermont.  The bike was expertly assembled here at Analog.  The rest of the spec is the normal Rivendell spec:

Handbuilt wheels with Kenda tires.  Nitto stem with Rivendell Tosco bars.  Sealed headset and bottom bracket.  Rivendell Silver double crankset.  9 speed cassette.  Friction shifter for the front derailleur, trigger for the rear.  Simple, powerful V brakes.  As it is, this bike is dead simple, very easy to work on, and will last for years with only minimal investment.  A great ride it and don't worry about it bike.
