The Kupilka platter is more of a small plate than a platter.  But let me tell you a platter story.  Back before dumpster diving had a reddit page, my dad loved to score free food.  Still does.  Goes to the car dealership for free coffee at least once a week, and wanders through the mechanic bay for a free donut.  When I was a kid he would put cake samples at the grocery store in the pocket of his second hand Harris Tweed jacket, for later snacks.  I think we had a Price Club membership just to get free samples on the weekends.  It was literally the dinner plan.  So it should come to no surprise that when my dad was in college he figured out the lecture schedule for visiting professors.  Because free food.  There was always a buffet laid out after the lecture for grad students and professors of say, Agricultural law.  He was an art student, but he had a tweed jacket and a pipe, and that, apparently, was all you needed to go graze the cornucopia of bologna, crackers and whatever sort of cheese they had in 1963 in the middle of Pennsylvania.  Probably ‘Yellow’ cheese, and a rare cave aged one at that.

Needless to say my dad would not be down with a platter of cheese on a Kupilka platter.  Too small.  Think: hand sized if you wear a medium glove.  Good size for a two person picnic of some dates, gooey cheese and a handful of Castleton Crackers.  Fine platter for a sandwich, or a two egg omelet, or a small stack of silver dollar pancakes.

Made in Finland of recycled wood bits and natural woody based glue, in a carbon neutral factory run by a bunch of quietly and justifiably smug Fins.
