In the 90’s, IRD was known for making the ugliest brakes out there.  Nowadays, they’re known for making cassettes no one wants, really narrow rims, and 2 styles of brake lever that are legit good designs.  One is the IRD Power Ratchet, and the other is this pair here: IRD Drillum Drop Bar brake levers.  


Here’s the quick ‘n dirty:  Hood shape is modeled after 90’s Campy hoods.  That’s a good thing, because those were comfortable.  Medium sized.  Good for medium or big hands.  Short pull, which means they work with road disc brakes, caliper brakes, mini V brakes, cantis, center pulls.  As with any cable operated brake lever, the nicer the cable and housing you use, the better it will work.
