Fifth Season Blizzard Sack (Red and Grey Wool Plaid Top, Maroon Waxed Canvas Bottom)

Fifth Season Blizzard Sack

  • Nothing more impressive
  • Than eating lichen
  • standing in the pouring rain
  • temps around 40/4
  • stoked

Yet sheep do it all the time.  Wool is naturally water resistant.  You can't put a sheep in a river and scoop them up in a day and expect them to be dry, but you can stand them out in the rain for hours and they don't get cold and wet.

In other words, this isn't a dry bag, but it's fine for most weather, including snow, sleet, rain.  Don't expect miracles, and you are fine.

Fits 137 wald full or half baskets.  Thick wool from Johnson Woolen mills in Vermont and waxed cotton.  Hemp webbing, full (not plated) brass hardware.  This particular sack was sewn in Maine in a one person workshop.

These cost more than the Squall sack because the wool is more than 2x the cost of the already really expensive waxed canvas.
