There are only two sub 200 dollar triple cranks out there these days. These Blue Lug XMC cranks are one, the Sugino made New Albion cranks are another. Everything else is way more spendy. That doesn’t mean spendy cranks are bad, or cheap cranks are good, but if you are on a budget, cranks can easily make a $3,000 build suddenly $3400. The XMC is a good road/commuter/gravel crank. Our guess is it’s melt forged, not cold forged, so it’s strong but not off road strong. The rings are machined, and shift well with a 9 speed drivetrain. 8 speed is fine too. They’re affordable enough that you could strip off the rings, sell them to a retro grouch, and stick a silver Garbaruk ring on there and go 1x. Uses a 122mm bottom bracket. We suggest a Stronglight unit.
48/36/26 rings.
Arm Length:165,170,172.5mm
Chain:9 Speed suggested
*Fixing bolts and Brass crank caps included.
