Veloci secretly makes some of the coolest bike frames out there. No one in the states knows about them, except for you. Imagine having a bike that’s super rad, pretty affordable, has good paint, rides well, and you are the only kid in North America who has one. That could be you, if ya play your cards right. Send us a suitcase full of unmarked 20’s, to PO 574 East Poultney VT, 05741. Don’t actually do that, they closed the post office in the general store, and your money would just end up endlessly getting bounced between Vermont and New Jersey.
If the Veloci Plan Big was a Fugazi Record, I’d say it was Repeater. Simple, tough, stripped down, purposeful. Run 29 x 54mm tires or 40’s and fenders like I am doing The SKS Aluminum fenders work well. Don’t be naff and put wide rims on it. Put something reasonable, like Spank Wing or Flare rims on it, or Velocity Ailerons. This isn’t a mountain bike, it’s a bike packing gravel eater that you could take on a century or commute to work on.
I like stiff but playful bikes. The Veloci Plan Big fits that bill. Stiff without being harsh. Handles well in and outta the saddle. More nimble than ultra stable feeling. It has all the braze ons for light racks, bike packing stuff, fenders, so you can load it up, but unlike many touring bikes, it feels good sans load too.
I have mine set up with a fixed cog in the back and a disc brake up front, but you can run gears easily, and of course, a rear brake.
Threaded bottom bracket.
Quick release 100/135mm hubs
Norm-core headset 1 ⅛
4130 Chromo tubing, butted. Decently light, really.
$730 for the frame and fork.
