Raceface Aeffect Cranks

Race Face named two cranks Aeffect.  One is the Aeffect and one is the Aeffect R.  Really creative.  The word Aeffect is how Canadians pronounce ‘A Fact’.  That is… not a fact.  Who knows what Aeffect means.  I bet someone at Race Face just was ripping mad bong hits and misspelled Effect or Affect.  10 months later they got a container full of cranks from Taiwan with Aeffect written on them.

The Race Face Aeffect are affordable, 6000 series forged cranks.  Cost is kept in check with the aluminum choice (6000 vs 7000) and steel 24mm spindle vs the 30mm spindle on the Aeffect R cranks.  24mm steel spindles are not a bad thing, in fact, in terms of bearing wear on the spindle, steel is better.  The aluminum used is a bit less strong, which means that even though these cranks are heavier than the Aeffect R, they’re only rated for trail and XC riding.

Pair these cranks with a Race Face Cinch chainring (Wolftooth and Garbaruk also make compatible rings) and any 24mm external bearing bottom bracket.  Shimano makes an ok cheap one, but save up a bit of scratch and get something nicer down the road, like a White Industries, Wheels Manufacturing bottom bracket.
