Because all bikes should have a chemical valence greater than two. The Velo Orange Polyvalent has all of your valences covered. Commuting (does anyone do that, even? We hope so..), tours involving goose pastrami and cheap bottles of Reisling, randonerding, long road meanders, fire roads, class 4 roads, path wanders. Anything that needs a 48ish mm tire and maybe fenders.

IS mount disc brakes and now with a 1 1/8 steerer.

Lots and lots of braze ons for bike packing style set ups or traditional racks and bags and fenders. There isn’t a right or wrong there.

Can be set up with a short stem anddrop bars, or a longer stem and swept back alt bars, like the VO Curvy, the Jones Bend, or the Surly Terminal.

1x 2x or OG triple crankset options. Standard spacing (non-boost) with thru axels. 12x100 up front and 12x142 in the back. Clearance for 650B x 48mm, 26 x 2.3" (either with fenders) / 650b x 2.1 or 26 x 2.3 with knobby tires sans fenders.

These frames are way stiffer this round.
