Introducing the Tanglefoot Moonshiner 2.0. A wild, rugged shred sled. A diggle whip designed to conquer rocky roads. A ride-camp-ride mule-foot machine.  The bike to grab when you want to eat rocks day after day, send it on snow mobile trails and 30% grade ATV tracks.  Muddy rutted roads and sandy woods double track.  Need to ride with 40lbs of gear and STILL shred?  Get a Moonshiner.

To "Tanglefoot" is to shed preconceptions, merging your spirit with the earth's telluric currents. Embrace the allure of a slow dip in a winter pond; conquering daring feats on a rigid drop-bar bike. Defy naysayers, let their doubts fuel your ATB quest.

The Moonshiner isn't just a bike. It's a timeless ethos woven into New England's fabric. No compromises, no Bullshit tolerated. It laughs at dings, scoffs at crashes—unyielding mettle. Categories can't confine it; it rules the Green Mountains, mastering global challenges. Past, present, future—it shapes them all, drawing inspiration from history. Low standover, lofty bottom bracket—pedals churn through gnarly terra. Riding the Moonshiner is surrendering to an epic voyage.

As Geordi La Forge said, "You don't have to take my word for it." Explorer Joe Cruz delved into its tale on Bikepacking.com. Read more here.

Technical Details:

Uniform angles between sizes, no toe overlap—ride tall or short. ZS44/EC44 Headset for durability. Tapered Steerer. Boost spacing front and rear. Optimal tire choices: 27.5 x 3 on 40mm rims or 29 x 2.8 on 35mm rims. Front and rear flat-mount brakes for the future. Multiple rotor options. Internal dropper routing, fits 30.9 seatposts. Relaxed seat tube angle for versatile dropper use. Built tough for loaded touring. Packed with braze-ons for endless possibilities.

Changes from V1:

  • Clearance on all sizes for 29 x 2.8 or 27.5 x 3.0  tires(V1 could 'only' clear 29 x 2.6 or 27.5 x 3.0)
  • Revised stack and reach to make the Large more like a large and less like an XL pretending to be large.
  • Newly added XL size, for riders over 6'2".
  • Newly added XS size, for riders under 5'4".
  • 2 lbs+ lighter fork with a tapered steerer tube, so it's just as stiff as the old fork.
  • Beefier replaceable dropouts, same format as the Tanglefoot Hardtack.  We had no issues with V1 dropouts, but this means we can stock less derailleur hangers as they're all the same across the line.
  • .5 degree steeper seat tube angle
  • slightly longer fork to accommodate the taller 29 x 2.8 tire
  • beefier top tube to deal with the added leverage of the longer fork.
  • lightly revised cable routing

Things that stay the same:

  • No toe overlap on any size
  • Same BB, HTA, STA, chainstay length on all sizes.
  • Color: deep mossy green

Built bike pics are of the XS and XL prototype, so you can see the drop outs and revised fork. Production fork is very slightly shorter, so it has less of a gap between tire and fork crown.   The frame only shots are production bikes.
